Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Treating the Ukraine situation as news instead of a small part of the "cold war" that in fact never ended is to misunderstand politics. If Russia backs down things will change about as much as they did after the Cuban Missile Crisis. To the extent this idiocy makes any sense, Russia invading Ukraine and getting stuck in a quagmire would hurt them economically and provide a boon to Western propagandists. Orwell got it right and it never changed.
