Brilliantly candid ….and funny! He’s a comedian and a very successful one, they knew what they were getting when they hired him and they got their money’s worth. Nobody jumped up and clobbered him, quite the reverse they enjoyed the ridiculing and sucked it up when it was directed at them.

On the other hand, what we saw at the Oscar’s was pseudo rage and posturing in my opinion and badly acted at that… by Will Smith….for that reason alone he should’ve had his Oscar rescinded ! It was a mildly funny and pretty innocuous joke by Chris Rock…perhaps in slightly bad taste with regard to Jada’s hair loss condition, but as Smith himself clearly saw the funny side of it from the smile on his face …until he looked at his wife who naturally wasn’t amused. The ensuing overreaction was staged purely for her benefit in my opinion, and was about as heartfelt as his subsequent apology.

You're right, no one does it better - he's a joy, and I got as many chuckles out of watching it again as I did the first time.

His series After Life was brilliant as well.
