What is critical here is a sample of the strategy Trump used for his subversion. Specifically, putting utterly corrupt loyalists in key position. In this case, it was the head of the IRS. Not only did Trump stop his own audit, but corruptly ordered and got audits of those he believed were his poiitical enemies. Trump did this throughout the government in a sweeping infiltration and destruction of lawful operation. Just by memory, this would include the FBI, NSC, DHS, DOJ, CDC. The real problem is that Trump's stooges found willing support in the agencies to subvert US policies.

The US antiquated Constitutional system does not adequately (by a long shot) commit itself to stopping corruption. Without that value, it will be a constant struggle to keep up, and will fail much of the time.

The Constitution is the only thing keeping the United States from falling apart completely.

@barjoe The weakness of the Constitution in addressing corruption is why the GQP will knowingly embrace a traitor and seditionist (and half of them also support Putin).

@racocn8 It's the makeup of this SCOTUS and some of the bad decisions coming out of most recent courts. Citizens United which enabled PACs and crooked lobbying. Republican party has members who have already wanted to suspend the Constitution. Why do you think they'd want to do that?

Contrary to the popular claim that both parties are equally corrupt, NO, the GQP is decidedly much more corrupt, and suspending the Constitution to enact its complete demise serves their fascist ambitions. Citizens United is certainly in the top 10 of corruption-enabling policies.

He lied? Holy smokes, I would never have thought him capable of that! 😂😂😂 The Republicans in the House are already grumbling about invasion of privacy! What are they going to do? Release Obama’s or Biden’s tax records? Oh wait, they both already did that on their own. Go after Hillary’s records? Too late, she already did that too! 😂
