I think that it depends on the author. I have read many great articles there, and I have read some poor ones. They publish articles from a lot of different perspectives. I especially like Adam Lee and his Daylight Atheism. I even have an essay published there, my deconversion story. [www].patheos.com/blogs/daylightatheism/essays/i-did-not-understand/

The site includes citations and references which is promising. The references page appears to have been taken down since however. It would seem that the article is reporting a factual occurrence. It's possible that they're cherry picking what to report on.
