LINK Teaching Hmong and Asian American histories required in Wisconsin schools under new law

Many Hmong settled in Wisconsin. Working with the CIA in South East Asia, we provided refuge for their cooperation after we pulled out. And rightly so. The 2nd & 3rd generation are doing well after a rough beginning by their predecessors. Some things can progress despite an assembly dominate by the RePUDliKLANS.

I have always loved diversity. The food, the music, the fermented libations. What would we be if not for the multi cultural positive contributions our different ethnic groups have contributed to the fabric we are made of. The banjo & porch & 1st vaccinations were founded in Africa, Mother to us all. The Chinese gave us silk, & earth quake proof structures, & fire works. The Americas gave us 400+ different vegetable foods of which corn, potatoes, tomato, squash are a few. Barbeque is Carribean. Vietnamese food is a combination of French & Asian. What could be better than that? This election will confirm if we are a nation of embracing who we are, blemishes & all, or denying once again the fact that we are a blended family.

So they will be showing Gran Torino in the schools, cool. A shame they have to make laws like this, even more ashamed that MAGA states are passing laws to whitewash history teaching in public schools.

It would be great if other states understood the benefits of teaching the children history of multiple ethnic groups.
Informing is empowering.
Love this
