Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Why not - it's a wonderful place ! If you look - you can find potentially dangerous critters in every part of the world. And if you are wise, and use common sense, you can avoid most problems, and even enjoy them. Statistically, you're more likely to get bitten by a stray dog !
Here in Florida , there are numerous critters of interest - actually one of the main reasons I moved here .
In fact, out back on my picnic table, in a jar, I have a beautiful brown widow (cousin to the black , and yes- venomous) that I found at my local post office. Saved her and her egg case from probable death on discovery by humans. Hope to see her little spiderlings hatch ...

Seriously you have to wonder how we survive here. Please not many cases are due to a human being in the animals environment or trying to interact with the animal rather than leaving it alone. That said when I get bitten by a bull ant I get massive swelling and pain and half the time I did not even know they were there in the first place.
