Some of the cool insects that showed up last night. It was 70°F and very humid at 11pm--a great combination. These are: a huge species of cranefly, a male luna, a dotted prominent, Abbott's sphinx (which has very cool caterpillars!), and a predaceous diving beetle.

Wouldn't have been able to id the cranefly. Predaceous diving beetle? They sound dangerous.

@Insectra Wow, see what you mean. I thought they kamikazed out of the sky or something.

Insects. They're not just for eating anymore.

Posted by InsectraA cute grey treefrog (Hyla versicolor) that I found in my birch tree, this afternoon. His camouflage was great and I only discovered him when I heard him calling.
