Some kitties are just more people bonded. If I had to guess she was taken from her mother early, or mother was not available. I had a cat that was very people bonded. She was part of an abandoned litter, bottle fed by a family with kids, dogs, cats, and other assorted critters. She loved full body contact with humans, she used to sleep under the covers with me. I loved it, my ex hated it.
Cats are seductive, attention whores. If you understand that, you’ll be fine.
In my experience kittens are as varied in temperament as are cats, dogs, horses, chickens and Muscovy ducks (and drakes). Enjoy the moment, and know that your socialising of that kitten will be of benefit to your son (and the kitten!).

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
