Hi everyone! I wanted to show off my beautiful cats! Unfortunately, earlier this year I had to put my two boys to sleep within a month of each other. Carter (white) and then Harley (brown tabby). It was heartbreaking but they’re not in pain anymore. I recently adopted two new kitties. Fiona (orange) and Cooper (black). As I write this they are both curled up next to me.

One must be hard enough, but two and so close nee year and holidays. There are times I would love a cat, but this is one reason I put it off.

It's tough to lose your babies. I've had cats for 40+ years. It's never easy to lose them. When these last 2 go, no more. I'm getting older and would hate to leave them behind to an unknown fate.

Why were they in pain?

FrayedBear Level 9 Dec 17, 2018

One had cancer and the other had a blood clot go to his back legs.

@skeletons79 Oh dear, that breaks me up. I'm glad my old girl in 22 years has never presented me with anything worse than fleas, furballs and puke, sloppy poos and gum disease.

It's hard to make that call....have to think of what is in their best interest....i also recently had to put down a pet.....i kept the ashes and it made/makes me feel better

I requested to keep Carter’s ashes but the vet screwed up and sent him in a communal cremation.

@skeletons79 I'm so sorry that happened..I can only imagine that the screw up has exacerbated the grieving process.....the vet also gave me a clay pawprint with his name on it which i thought was a nice bonus

It’s hard to lose them.
But the comfort of having new siblings is always good.

I feel you pain. I had to put down my 19 y/o Kitty just before Thanksgiving. I recently brought Bonnie and Clyde home.

They are so beautiful, I'm very partial to gingers. I'm sorry for your loss, and you're right it's better that they are no longer in pain.
