Today I sat at kitchen table writing out checks. My cats jumped onto the table and sat on my checkbook. They jump on to the table whenever I try to write and read ... also when I eat. They are obsessed with interrupting me when I use the table. Do your furbabies do this?
The boy cat will come get me an dlead me to the food dish to watch him him eat. He also will come get me to open the door for him to go out... even though there is a cat door, which he has nto problem using on other occasions.
I tend to lay down when i listen to (read) books. The girl cat will literally try to herd me over to lay down to read, so she can take a nap on top of me.
My dog Shadow would sit and wait as I read a newspaper - but if it was too long a wait he would jump up and slap both paws through the paper, shredding it and crushing me - his 145lb always seemed to land on my balls - RULE1 don't ignore a fur baby
It's interesting and a little sad how lots of people look at this that way. We say that they are doing something to us as if that's their intention. I don't think so. They just want, that's all. They don't know anything about human culture and how we perceive things like that. I think we're projecting, when we actually should try to see things the way they do instead. We are a little (or maybe very) myopic when it comes to cats.
Of course cats want your attention they know you will leave them alone 40 hours a week so it is pay back time....they are 24/7 gawds unlike the alleged bible monster demanding only 2 hours on the sabbath
My cats believe they are Goddesses and demand that I pray to them and worship them.
@SKH78 but they don't worship Ramen
Tell them you're writing checks to Petsmart for cat toys. They should stand back...(after S.Martin)...
If we did what cats do, we would be considered assholes...but...cats...love them for their impudence...
We have six furbies and of course none of them get on the table when we try to eat, type, or just watch the telle. We have a small place. If you believe this then you are also trying to be funny. At times there can be three on the table, one in a chair wondering how to get on the table, one outside, and the other up on his platform watching the rest of us.
Only at treat time...or pet time....or my bath time.....or bed time.......

Posted by LaurenI thought this was an accurate representation of how we feel every time we remember our last cat, which happens often when my daughter and I laugh over our current cat's antics.
