I can't imagine I'd be that lucky, or skilled, to get my cats used to a harness. Congrats to you.
I think once Nala understood the harness ment going outside she was OK with it. Now Pixie, she will tolerate the harness but is timid outside. She won't venture far from the back door, and usually wants back in after about 10 minutes. It also helps that they both have a good view of the back yard from my kitchen window, so it is familiar territory. And it's quiet, away from the street.
Zippy is way too squirmy and quick for me to try installing a harness or anything. Maybe after he's aged a little. Meanwhile he cannot go outside.
Lucky Nala, smart Nala.
Out of the 6 cats I've had during the 35 years I've lived here, Nala is only the 2nd one to really behave and get used to being on a leash. The others were like you said, just freaked out like I was torturing them or something. Nala is pretty relaxed with it now. She chases bugs, eats grass, and even fell asleep on the bench once.
Hi kitty!
Nala say 'Hi' right back at-cha
