I thought I would throw out a poem I wrote a couple decades ago. I think it describes a lot of people; hopefully, I've done better.

self inspection

as evil touches evil,
i am a white man's poet.
unaggressive advocate of rights.

i weep for -
child's death, shackled peace,
society's cancer of want.
