You could make the argument that black lives are saved everyday by all of the police who show restraint and DON'T shoot on sight any ethnicity other than their own.
Which is like saying a police officer is justified in arresting a suspect for damaging police property, when said suspect viciously attacks a policeman's boot with their testicles.

The police do not save anyone. They come in to clean up the mess after the crime.
