Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has been smeared as an Assad apologist for her efforts to end the US-backed proxy war and her skepticism of US military strikes in Syria. MIT professor emeritus Ted Postol, a leading missile expert and informal Gabbard advisor, defends Gabbard’s stance.
Professor Postol also criticizes the OPCW’s continued silence on a leaked document that suggests the April 2018 gas attack in Douma was staged.
Guest: Theodore Postol, award-winning Professor of Science, Technology and National Security Policy at MIT.
Lets not forget none of these people had a problem with Assad when the CIA was running black sites ops torturing Muslims within Syria in the early years of the war in Iraq. Not until Assad realized his country was on the agenda did he become a brutal dictator. And I personally have an issue with Gabbard stating as much in some of her statements in attempts to justify her visit there while not mentioning this. Say what you will about Assad, but the situation he was faced with was a mirror situation Saddam Hussein faced. Keeping these countries from any sense of full blown uncivil rest was quite difficult for these presidents. Especially when you have the westernized world constantly interfering, as they were in both countries, and the media out to set the perception of being brutal. When they do it it's brutal dictatorship, when we do it it's spreading democracy. A democracy we don't really even have!
Excellent commentary!

This mess has always seemed oil driven to me. IMO. Syrian government not our friends. It's in Israel's best interest the U.S. takes control.
This, to me, has always come off as the U.S. basically giving the OPCW a pat on the back to get a fake report. Then launching a bunch of rockets to show they can play dirty and have the bigger dick.
I like Gabbard but, I think she is going to always get her face rubbed in the dirt because she plays fair.
I don't like that, but that is how the game is often played.
Tulsi Gabbard is Putin's favorite. She doesn't believe Russia interfered with our elections, and she doesn't support economic sanctions as retaliation. I don't care what MIT associate was paid to endorse her.
