It really is difficult to get people to step off the cliff into uncertainty.
I have a long story about this, the short version is, I was the only one to walk out and quit. I appealed the denial for unemployment benefits. At the hearing the question I was asked after I won was, "why did it take so long to quit?" I'd been working at this place for like 2 years but I never knew what the state law was in regards to my rights and the work place standards. I won because my employer ran the shop below the industry standards in the State of WA.
Everyone in the shop knew the minute the boss was informed I was going to get my unemployment benefits because he threw a heavy staple through the wall. Yeah, that temper was part of my issue(s).

Seems American workers are fighting back by not accepting low wages or selling your life to employers..
