Here In Tampa, Florida,Am enjoying BLTs and salads made with heirloom black tomatoes from my winter garden. Thy are delicious - even seem to taste better than my spring tomatoes do.
I'm not jealous. Not at all. I'm perfectly happy with a garden-tomato season that starts in August and stretches all the way until the last green tomatoes I harvest before the frost (sometimes as early as late September) decide they'd rather rot than ripen. Nope, I'm not sorry at all that I read this post.
There are people that really love green tomatoes. Ever try using those. I think even black tomatoes started out as green.
I love those black tomatoes! Lucky you!!!
If you are not already growing your own black tomatoes, I would be glad to send you some se4eds to grow your own plants. If interested, just send me a private message with your mailing address.
Cabbage grown in cold climes always, in my memory, was preferable to those grown in the hot ones.
