My other clematis just decided to join Niobe in blooming. This is "Diana...something or other." Lady, Princess, Duchess,...I can't recall the full name ... Sorry Lady Spencer. A thousand plant breeders seem intent in using her name.

I love clematis, I had a trellis at the end of my patio that had clematis trained up it. It was so pretty. Then I moved and they didn't maintain it.

I haver grown them before. I planted two of them a year and a half ago, and they have certainly taken their time establishing. But both seem to be establishing, spreading, and not too fussy, so long as I don't let weeds choke them out.
