In the next village, the houses have a stream running past their front door, so not much front garden. But some of them have done amazing things, with just simple ingredients, like tulips and winter pansies, plus potted shrubs.

Someone once told me a house they had bought had a beautiful garden outside the kitchen window. Seems, the house was older and instead of a regular drain with P trap the drain went outside to the yard.

Beautiful! I always did a lot of pots mixed in with my plants in the ground. I like the look!
