I love the look of lavender, the colour is superb, but cannot stand the smell.

I love the look as well, but I admire it from afar as it's one of the floral scents I'm allergic to. I used to be more stubborn about keeping plants like lavender and Plumeria, but I finally gave up and moved on to the plants with scents I can tolerate.

I know of others with the same issue. Lavender, is actually one plant in which a lot of people are allergic. However, it is also a strong aromatherapy herb to induce sleep.

I've got a plant growing in my garden that vaguely looks like lavender. It grows like a weed. I'll shortly make a post in gardener's group

Sad that you don't like the smell. I have fond memories of seeing it growing wild in Portugal alongside Asphodeles.

So basically, you're telling us you're weird. 😉

Lavender refuses to thrive in this region. We have to make do with various perennial salvias, which of course smell completely different. Maybe you should try some of that.

You've only just realised that @Jolanta is weird! I thought that all knew.

@FrayedBear It takes one to know one.

@Jolanta who ISN'T weird, though, really?

They use it to scent soap . They felt it smelled better than sweat .

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
