Well, it may just be that spring is inching forward slowly at last. I made my first picking of perennial salad leaves today in the garden. With, Salad Burnet, Sorrel, Chives and Lovage. It will still need the addition of some supermarket lettuce for bulk as yet, but I still have the makings of a tasty leaf salad direct from the garden.

There is not much better than freshly picked, home-grown greens.

Lovage looks rather like cilantro. Can you describe the flavor?

Yes, strong celery with a slight yeasty tone.

@Fernapple I've never seen it...growing or for sale. Maybe it's a ''Brit'' thing?

@pamagain Its proper name is Levisticum officinale. You may find more at [en.wikipedia.org]

@Fernapple Thanks....interesting!

Add some feta cheese & balsamic vinegar & I'll join you.

Added a little Indian spice mix, just a trace, olive oil and salt. Will eat with a small fillet of fish and some prawns, cooked in butter and a flour and spice dusting.

@Fernapple I am experiencing uncontrollable salivation. I will refer this to my food taster...I meant cook.

@Fernapple why are you not sharing this in "Food Glorious Food"?

@FrayedBear I tend to avoid multiple postings, but may do so.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
