Our mailbox "habitat" garden is attracting hummingbirds. I've seen two feeding there in the past few days.

Do you have a plant list? I don't recognize the unopened umbrellas.

The white blooms are yucca.

@bigpawbullets Left to right: Can't make out the fine pink flowered plant; clematis; yucca; red and yellow upside down umbrellas?

@AstralSmoke
Far right are called "Red Hot Poker". That's the marketing name anyway.

@bigpawbullets I doubt they are hummingbird flowers. Have you noticed if they attract insects?

@AstralSmoke
Penstemon, far left... small flowers. The hummingbirds and butterflies like it. Hummingbirds seem attracted to the yucca as the flowers are tubular, and the color of the pokers seems to draw them into the habitat. Later, cone flowers and Joe pie weed seem to attract them.

@bigpawbullets We have several yuccas growing, but I've never seen a hummingbird attracted to them. Penstemon! Butterflies and other insects don't seem to be as picky as hummingbirds. Thanks for the info.

Penstemon pictures.
Closeups of the small flowers on the far left.
These pics are from our backyard gardens. Same plant though. Stuff spreads like crabgrass!!

@bigpawbullets I'm not familiar with this plant. Where is it originally from? Do you know? Never mind. I won't be so lazy. I'll look it up.

@AstralSmoke ,
It's from..... Lowes.
😉

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
