There was more flavor in this peach than 3 of the ones from the store. The tree is less than 3 feet tall, so I'm amazed I've going to get 7 peaches. It's been tough gardening with the heat and dry wind, but a few things are doing well. Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, swiss chard and butternut squash. The grapes tasted wonderful, then the next day the birds discovered them and they were gone. I have a hooded oriole hanging around so seeing it is not a total loss.
A gardener's lot is not an easy row to hoe but it is a rewarding one, most of the time.
The peach looks very tempting. Here they put the bunches of eating grapes into paper bags to stop the birds getting them.
@CrazyQuilter I would have thought muslin would work. here they sell packets of paper bags just for the purpose at the ironmongers!
