Maybe , the garden is the kitchen garden , just outside the back door of this house ?
@kenriley I don't see it as an either or situation . If you're happiest living in a little old shack , by all means do . But just because you live in a nicer home , doesn't mean you can't have a little garden to piddle around in . I think I like the middle third of the house , with the garden in the rear , and more importantly , time enough to work in it .
That's what I want, with a few chickens.
@Sheannutt and chicken droppings for fertilizer, and chickies for bug control.
@HippieChick58 I have chickens for eggs and to work my compost and fertilizer my garden area. And guineas for pest control
