Beets. Both the bulb abd the leaves are edible. Wear rubber gloves to keep your hands from being dyed red.

That is large for a radish.

@Sheannutt there is a long white variety and I recently had some very nice pale orange heirloom radish the size of walnuts but very flavoursome.

@Sheannutt I betcha its pithy but maybe very hot. My grandmother was in Ripley's Believe It or Not with massive carrots. 12 inches circumference

@Countrywoman were they like shot put balls or long and pointy?
