Sweet potatoes and white potatoes, to me, are two totally separated foods. Not interchangeable. But that is me. Potatoes are a starch. Sweet potatoes a great alternative to dessert; just crumble a little raw brown sugar and butter on it. But that's me.
sometimes I cook several sweet potatoes and then keep them in the fridge. A quick pop in the microwave and I have dinner.
@Sheannutt Tastebuds are funny. My ex thought cruciferous veggies tasted bitter. I LOVE broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, etc. Not so much brussels sprouts. My kids take after me! It is also like the cilantro thing. To some folks it tastes like soap, not to me and my kids. The partners of the kids have the soap thing.
They have a few more calories per hundred grams - 87 as opposed to 76, so shoyuld be treated with caution on a calorie-controlled diet. If you are not on a diet, they make delicious crisps (US chips) cooked in the oven, lightly sprayed with oil and salted.

I have planted a good quantity this year, ,_.50 slips, so I am looking forward to the harvest.
Hopefully several bushels by November.
