Dug my potatoes today -- Pontiac red variety. Got well over 40 pounds. I don't eat many potatoes -- grow them mainly for my wife, give some to neighbors, and sell some to a lady from another neighborhood who loves all my vegetables. It is a win-win for us both. She gets better vegetables than she can buy at the grocery store at prices below that of the grocery store. Her purchases cover most of my costs of gardening, so most of what I grow is at no cost to us.
I love new potatoes. My family used to leave them in the ground (for about six weeks) and only dig up what was needed for a meal. Then we would do the harvest. Usually had enough to last until the next season with white potatoes. Red potatoes did not fare as well.
That is such a good bargain for both of you!

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
