My peach tree in a whiskey barrel is now on its second season,30 in tall and so loaded with fruit I had to prop up the branches with stakes. I thinned a lot, but should have thinned more. Some fruit got pushed off in the last stages of sizing. Next year I will go for one peach every 4-5 inches. So far I've had peach crisp, peach salsa, peach daiquiri, smoothies and froze some for later.

Was the barrel scorched for smoked whiskey? If so do the peaches taste smoked? lol

I read that it is a dwarf variety. What are you feeding it on? Steroids?
Do the peaches have lots of flavour?

Wow! Can you tell us more--dwarf or semi dwarf, bare root, and what kind of soil and fertilizer etc?

What do you do with the pits ?

@CrazyQuilter plant them

@CrazyQuilter you may be correct or your green thumb might yield double size peaches

@CrazyQuilter great....my mom was on Antiques Roadshow with her quilt from antiquity Lord Baltimore family Sally Calvert....we had big peaches in our yard 40 years ago....I was not allowed to climb any trees but for apples 60 years ago

@CrazyQuilter maybe you remember Bruce Reeves Rose Bowl Spartans champion running back ?....Alums might know how he turned out in NFL and back in Irmo SC ?

@CrazyQuilter Spartan NOT

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
