Syrphid Fly larva, or Hover Fly.
Gardeners' Buddy.
Eats lots and lots of aphids.
Holds them up and chugs down their juices.
Yummy!

can they be introduced like ladybugs, it never hurts to have more than one predator for those little suckers.

Try planting herbs like parsley, dill and fennel. Any plant in this family will do.
The adults love to nectar on small flowers. Flea bane works well too

@Leafhead I checked the Tex A & M site, and it looks like I already have them, I see the adults flitting around and didn't know what they were. Thanks for pointing it out.

@glennlab
Yeah, they look just like little bees that hover in midair.
Other allies include Lace wings and aphid specific parasitoid wasps

@Leafhead I did not realize how widwspread they were, so Fennel gets the broadcast planting in the cool areas of my yard this fall/late summer.

@glennlab
Cool beans 🙂
Good luck and enjoy the Eastern Black Swallowtail coming to your Fennel.
It's their fave

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
