The Bad Guys in my Garden
While we were out planting the gooseberries, I introduced Brendan to the bad guys in my garden, Deadly nightshade, Lilly of the valley and Poison Ivy. I am quite relaxed about these plants, in fact Lilly of the Valley is one of my Spring flowers. Brendan was not so calm and wanted to destroy every plant, especially the belladonna ( deadly nightshade) I suppose if you have a small garden, these plants become intruders, but I have lots of space and usually let them be. The only plant i destroy whenever possible is Poison Ivy, but so far that creepy runner is winning the battle. Later in the fall, I will go after it with Epson salt and hope for the best.
We also saw two lively toads in the garden; always a pleasure to see.
