Interesting graphic about two different cultures.
With climate disruption, the need for micro gardening (1/2 acre or less) may become critical for food production here in the United States.

Yea sure. We have a person on the island that touts this (she does NOT have a garden even though she has the room. When I drive to Seattle, Everett or Bellingham I see huge apartment houses with people crammed in them like sardines. Who has the space for a garden or even the time. Right now small farms are endangered in favor of industry driven, mono cultured, GMO farms. Look at Russia, the largest continent in the world with a population half of the US. When visiting Italy with a orchard group I discovered the average farm is 1 - 2 hectares (less than 5 acres). The average farmer lives in a city in an apartment. Food is harvested by people from the EU who travel from place to place in their trailers and go home after the season is over. Farms are managed by co-ops who help with marketing but also set the rules. Mention this and then hold your ears from the screams of "Socialism."

I do most of my shopping at the farmers market every Saturday. I did have raised bed vegetable gardens, but my water bill got to much for me to handle. It was more than my electric bill!! I'm thankful for the farmers market as I can get all the vegetables and greens there and my eggs.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
