Thinking about planting a veggie garden that will make you and your family more food independent on a small plot of land - 25' x 50'?

I don't think I have that much level surface in my yard. It is a small yard on a slope. I have two 3X3 raised beds, and they're partly shaded. I love my tomatoes.

The sample garden is to feed a family of 5 and I notice it is heavily weight towards leafy greens that can be harvested and rotated multiple time as well as beans and root veggies that will store well through the winter. No tomatoes because they take up too much space and are low yielding by comparison.

@Surfpirate Sweet Million cherry tomatoes! One plant will climb to 6'x8' or more, & give you literally Thousands of really tasty bite-sized tomatoes, that can be simply frozen in bags, you will Never eat them all!

This seems very doable. Veggie gardens are quite a lot of work, but well worth the effort!

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
