While I was gimping around with a bum hip last summer, I didn't even notice where my little hummers had nested!
This is a shrub that should leaf out again but I don't want to disturb it. Do they re-use nests??

They have reused nests in my garden on occasion. We're so lucky to have them about where we live and garden. I'd feel the same way if I lived where fireflies can be seen, as I did as a kid. Here are a couple of pics of the time they nested in the first fork of a Euphorbia lambii, only a couple feet off the ground. Seemed a precarious location but both fledged without incident.

It was probably hidden by foliage when the tiny family built it.

some do, but they all will reuse nest materials from previous years nests, they are very skittish so you need to keep your distance if they come back.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
