Lilac pics in Google images match. Curiously, it bears some resemblance to Ayahuasca, both in terms of the flowers and the leaves.

No, it is not a lilac tree. That I am sure of.

If I had to guess I would say Lilac. It is the only bush/tree I know of with that colored flower. Now if one had a piece of the wood, lilac has a purple strip between the heart and outer wood.

No, not a lilac tree.

I think it's the vitex agnus-castus, also called vitex, chaste tree, chasteberry, Abraham's balm, lilac chastetree, or monk's pepper, is a native of the Mediterranean region. It is one of the few temperate-zone species of Vitex, which is on the whole a genus of tropical and sub-tropical flowering plants.
I could be wrong, the photo is fuzzy.
At first I thought it was a type of bush I'm aware of.

Obviously I was think Lilac but you crushed it.

No, not a lilac tree. I had a good look at the flowers. Very big and deciduous it is. I am not sure that Canberra is a temperate-zone, hot dry summers with cool winters.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
