Hosta transplanting put on hold at this spot until fall. Milkweed from our butterfly garden migrated over to the fence garden bed. We're on a Monarch migratory route so we try to leave milkweed alone when we find it.

Milkweeds will travel via underground shoots as well as seeds. Props to you for nurturing them.

The deer are playing havoc with my Hostas, transplanted a bunch and within a week the deer had nibbled them down to stubs.

We hear this from our neighbors. We've an old field border on the back of our properties that the whitetails use to travel between forests, and to hunker down in to sleep. Hostas outside our 6 foot tall privacy fence are always chewed up.

I have milkweed all over the front of my house and I leave it alone as well. My hostas are doing so good this year.. but we have some very high unusual temps for this part of the region.

Yay to you for milkweed protection.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
