Self regulation of industry is a bad joke that has never worked. It inevitably ends with workers being screwed and corporations dumping hazardous waste in your backyard... Any student of history who has actually studied it can tell you this...
Yes, but they are regulated to do no harms to others, which should include the environment.
@BDair You can never have it both ways and the people running huge corporations are sociopathic... It is one of the things they look for in corporate executives because they don't care about anyone but themselves which is what has created the problems we face today.
Yes, I agree corporations put profit ahead of the environment and the health and safety of people all around the planet. They often do so while meeting government regulations.
