@Druvius It has everything to do with the topic. An unarmed population is at the mercy of its own government and other foreign governments who choose to invade. Disarming the population might save people from gun deaths by the hundreds or thousands, but it puts the population at risk of suffering deaths by the millions. Our founding fathers were a bunch of bright guys. They knew what they were doing when they wrote the 2nd Amendment.

If that's your position, you must accept the fact that dead children are part of the cost of guns on demand. You cannot have the latter without the former.

@BD66 If that were necessarily true for every country where citizens didn't have unfettered access to all firearms, you may have a point. But it's not necessarily true. So you have to be fine with a massive loss of children's lives because you think both that our government is going to try slaughter its citizenry AND that those citizens will be able to stop them because they have firearms. Regardless, you are okay with children DEFINITELY dying in their classrooms.

A well regulated militia. Today they are called the national guard. This is not the 18th century. Wake up and join the 21st century. An assault weapon will not keep our government at bay. They have tanks and war planes. What's next will you claim thst we have the right to own a tank.
