That's one reason he was against it as a national symbol. Considering our war like nature towards countries on their last legs, not all that good of an objection.

Franklin WANTED the Turkey, as the national bird.
@KevinAverett Franklin didn't live long enough to see the domestic turkey. They're so dumb they panic if the Goodyear blimp passes over.
