it could always be worse
You've reminded me of an old joke.
A guy has a friend that when he complains how badly life has life has treated him the response is always: "It could be worse."
One day he tells the friend "I came home today. Found the wife in bed with the boss. Shot both of them to death."
"It could be worse," says the friend.
"How could it possibly be worse?"
His friend says "It could have been me in bed with her. Now I'd be dead."
