@Jetty No. I attempted dark humor. They are not paid nearly enough. Factors related to globalization put downward pressure on wages. This is by design. Capitalism is exploitive and many US firms are exploitive in the extreme. And this is reflected in government, as well.
The concept of a living wage is elusive to most employers.
