This is misleading and wrong on so many levels. The scientific explanation is too long to post.
Suffice to say that if it was true the rest of the developed world would have the cure being that most have government run healthcare and research and, it would be in there interest not to withhold a cure but not give it to the US. Then, it would make sense.
