Very much part of my childhood. The war lived on even beyond when I left in '74. Bombed out buildings still even in the smart area of London in which I lived.
Memories of "All our Yesterdays" which reached WW2 end in 1970. And of course my father's favourite programme "Dad's Army". He'd been Captain Mainwaring in Croydon. They were going to have a practice battle with Wandsworth but called it off because it was raining.
