Same decade, same Century, different location and Billy Coke-bottle, Elder of the Clan, and his Clan are sitting down near a water-hole about to dine on a kangaroo that has been roasting in the coals when an itinerant Catholic Priest enters the camp.
The Priest is invited to join in and dine with the Clan but before eating he offers up a prayer of thanks for the meal.
This confuses Billy and they get into a discussion about God, Jesus and everything Catholic.
Finally the Priest convinces Billy to become a baptized Christian and takes Billy down to the water-hole, says as he dunks Billy under the water " Go in Pagan Heathen, come out pure and clean Christian, you are now transformed."
This 'little' ceremony goes on and on until the whole Clan has been baptized, they then sit and eat together and as the Priest leaves he tells Billy, " Now, remember you ARE a Catholic and Christian so you MUST not partake of Red Meat on any Friday and tomorrow will be Friday so count each day until it is again a Friday."
Months pass by and again the same Priest returns on a Friday to find Billy and the Clan sitting and waiting as another kangaroo is roasting, the Priest screams out in shock, " I told you that you MUST not eat ANY red meats on a Friday."
Billy looks up and says clearly and simply, " But Boss, me do just what you did, Me take him 'roo down to water, dunk him in water and say, Go in meat, come out Fish, so that makes him okay to eat doesn't it?"
