Welcome to the group, new members. Please post pictures of your work if you want to, but there is no obligation. This group is not a competition! I love to see other people's work and get inspiration from it.

Celia, Here's more optical illusions for you. I do a lot of them. Both of these patterns are by Karen Combs. Involves Y seams, but if that does not intimidate you, go for it.

Wanted share this link to a quilt designer who depicts mathematical concepts in fabric. They are way cool, but a lot of them require techniques.

People are coming and going in this group but not saying anything. It would be very nice if people introduced themselves and told us a bit about what they like to do. So far the conversation has been a bit limited.

Quilts of Valor Have any of you been to a Quilt of Valor presentation? One of my friends runs the local Quilts of Valor organization and they presented 5 quilts Friday and will present another 10 during the county fair next month.

The temperature has suddenly shot up here and it is getting too hot to do anything, except for a few hours in the morning. Knitting is mostly impossible - my fingers feel like sausages in the heat, and stitching isn't much better. For various ...

While I am here in Spain it is hard for me to find organisations that would welcome quilts, but when i get back to the UK I shall see if some of the organisations dear to my heart, like women's refuges, would like quilts. Thank you all for making me...

Hi! I’m new here. I’m a quilter. However, I haven’t done any sewing since my hubby passed away. I want to get back into it, but can’t seem to bring myself to. Any suggestions?

Good to see that the group is growing, albeit slowly. With the hot weather I am starting several new small projects that will not make me hot to sew/knit. After all, it's not as if anyone is waiting for the bigger projects I already have on hand. ...

I was so taken with the geometric and optical illusion patchwork shown that I went straight ahead and did this small tumbling blocks piece which i have made into a tote bag to carry my work around.

I found this interesting quilted pillow pattern in one of my mom's Japanese magazines. I can't read Japanese, but since I am a visual person, I figured it out by looking at the pictures. Made this last month for a friend who lost a lot of possessions...

Finished the small guest room quilt. It's a easy pattern that I tried to teach my visiting sister to quilt. But she was not interested so I did it myself. Relaxing to do a more simple pattern for a change. I like the backing enough to use it ...

This is the look I got when I came home once to find my knitting yarn wrapped around furniture, out the doggy dog, back in, soggy, and full of grass. I think he's saying 'wasn't me- a coyote came in the doggy door and did this mess'.

Hey everybody, I'm new here! My name is Fiona, I'm 18 and I've been wanting to get into quilting for a while. I was thinking that for a start I'd make a crib quilt for my friend's baby, though I'm not sure what to put on it. Any ideas?

Not quilting or knitting, but this is my first cushion and it's been a steep learning curve. I think I need to trim 1/2 inch off the foam insert. It's going to be too tight. I do like how this fabric goes with my painted cupboard.
