The Florida condo disaster

{Search and rescue operations continued for a second day Friday after the collapse early Thursday morning of a portion of the Champlain Towers South condominium in Surfside, Florida. According to the latest reports, four residents are dead and a dozen have been injured, but the toll is expected to rise substantially, with 159 residents still unaccounted for.}

Lets be clearly blunt about this. Can anyone for a minute believe that for 2 days straight only 4 people could have been discovered and reported as dead? 3rd world countries do a drastically better job of relief help of getting alive and dead people from larger catastrophes with minimal tools and equipment to work with in 3 days. Today the count I see is still only 9 now. This is quite frankly unacceptable! !Let alone how this was allowed to happen!

[wsws.org]

{“This is a tragic, devastating event, and it could be a canary-in-the-coal-mine type event,” Albert Slap, CEO of RiskFootprint, a company that assesses the vulnerability of buildings to floods and storm surge, told the Post. “It’s not just one building. This could be something that could affect other buildings.”}

And we have representation of the likes of a cat and mouse chase when it comes to climate change. I've seen videos of rodents playing with dogs and cats on facehack that get along better than our representatives. But then, you have to be conditioned to a point you don't realize that our representation is merely a game of deceit. This will turn out to be just like the fire in the UK. And that is why we're not getting a real account of the current situations in Florida.

If you live near the ocean or any waterfront, I'd highly suggest you start looking into information on your living structure and history of complaints. Taking any flaws you see of the building as grave concern. Because the following is the only thing that matters in our system of capitalism, as they found out in the UK.

{The Surfside condo collapse is only the latest in a string of disasters in the United States that is the result of the decay of infrastructure and the systematic undermining of health and safety regulations over the last four decades. Every aspect of American society has been subordinated to the funneling of resources to the rich at the expense of the vast majority.}

We are just as expendable here at home on our lands as our men and women sent off to fight wars based on lies and false narratives for the benefit of the military complex and various corporations who benefit from those wars, including our representation who buy into their stock as we found out as they marched off our men and women over one obvious lie that grew into others as they fell one by one to the floors of congress and the white house. !O! !wait! don't leave our MSCM out of this either.

{Despite the burning need for a historic investment in the country’s bridges, roads, homes, factories and schools to fix that which is rapidly decaying and prepare for the catastrophic implications of climate change, the Biden White House is working with Congress on an infrastructure bill that will be yet another giveaway to the banks and corporations.}

And they are still in the process of whittling away at that. Do little as possible so it doesn't appear to be so obvious of where the funds are truly going. Nickel and dime it at the cost of safety, then attack the working class another year.

{One can be certain that the official investigation of the Surfside tragedy will conceal far more than it reveals, and that none of those chiefly responsible will be held to account.

As with the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 600,000 Americans, the disaster in Surfside places in stark relief the reality that under capitalism the interests of society are completely subordinated to the interests of the financial elite, no matter the cost in human suffering and loss of life. A solution to the problems that confront humanity will not come through the profit system or any of the parties of the financial oligarchy. It will come through the revolutionary transformation of society under the democratic control of the working class on the basis of a socialist program.}

Sadly I have to take you to task in thinking that the working class will effect change. Time & time again, and I've seen this over and over in the co-operative society structures, that human being whether rich or poor are too flawed with greed & self protection to work for the good of all.
In other words in Cippolla's words "a stupid person is more dangerous than a thief and there are more of them about than an intelligent person thinks":

These are Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity:

  1. Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
  2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
  3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
  4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.
  5. A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

Corollary: a stupid person is more dangerous than a pillager.

I've lived my life surrounded by #3's...

While I get the gist of Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity, I'm attempting to direct anyone following my post towards fuller enlightenment of what the SEP (socialist equality party) can deliver for us. Referring to these people as stupid when they show resistance isn't going to gain me any traction towards my goal. To do so I then fall in line with Cipolla's narrative as "stupid".

As one who recognizes how all negative false narrative propaganda is manufactured by a combination of think tanks, NGO's, and public relation firms for the benefit of the ruling class, used against us by our representation and the MSCM owned by the ruling class, I can better serve my goal by explaining how they create a conditioning of perception management towards a deceitful reality. Along with the other independent news sources more in line with world reality I think I have a better path towards reaching this goal as they also lead in this direction. Especially as they honestly cover socialist countries exposing the lies and deceitful coverage of our MSCM.

I'll argue we are making short strides in society as 2016 came in and socialism became the hot topic under Sanders. Arguably deceitful as it was on Sanders part, socialism fills the air in our society today. Just this month India Walton, proclaimed socialist, just won the mayoral primary in Buffalo NY and is presumed to go on to win that election. [nypost.com] We have a Seattle woman, a socialist, who has been stead fast in holding her position against vast attacks and large corporate funding for years. Who is a symbol of how minimum wages of $15 an hour can help build a better community. It works against all spoken false narratives and propaganda. All eyes will be on this new mayor now as the DSA supported her and being correlated with AOC. I'm quite sure the Black Agenda Report will analyze her position soon.

We can't possibly attempt to direct people from out of their conditioned rabbit holes onto a more positive path by relating to them as stupid. This isn't going to win their support. Quite frankly, as one who has a history of posting in the political realm on this site, what purpose do you do it for then? If it isn't for change then your admitting your attempts are basically futile. And addressing the followers as stupid serves what? You might as well walk into a 1% biker event and scream out that all bikers are fucking idiots. I assure you you will get the same results. Confrontation.

@William_Mary Hmm, may I suggest that uoi are emotively getting hung up on the word stupid rather than the fact that human nature in most cases ultimately fails the "benefit of all test". Humans are genetically programmed to look after #1, self, then family. I suggest that few if any can get beyond that.
I'm not arguing against the philosophy of socialism.

@FrayedBear stupid is the primary narrative. However, the mistake is the use of the term stupid.
The definition of stupid doesn't fit the underlining problem. Psychological manipulation is drastically more related to our political issue here.

Directing people away from the false information they have been given, believing it is the only information available to them, is a positive agenda. Again, what is your purpose here then? You would suggest I make the same selfish decision and keep this knowledge to myself, like the forces we oppose, joining you in self proclaimed higher intelligence because I know and understand these vulnerabilities?

You disappear for months then come back to attack me and the group purpose. What the fuck!

Cipolla also said {Stupid people are seen as a group, more powerful by far than major organizations such as the Mafia and the industrial complex, which without regulations, leaders or manifesto nonetheless manages to operate to great effect and with incredible coordination.}

That in itself can be argued either way. Is he referencing that towards stupidity as a negative or a positive? Attempting to regulate them towards the positive would seemingly be productive for society. It's rather contradictory it terms of the purpose here as the bellow indicates.

{Cipolla further refines his definition of "bandits" and "naive people" by noting that members of these groups can either add to or detract from the general welfare, depending on the relative gains (or losses) that they cause themselves and society. A bandit may enrich himself more or less than he impoverishes society, and a naive person may enrich society more or less than he impoverishes himself and/or allows himself to be impoverished. Graphically, this idea is represented by a line of slope -1, which bisects the second and fourth quadrants and intersects the y-axis at the origin. The naive people to the left of this line are thus "semi-stupid" because their conduct creates/allows a net drain of societal welfare; some bandits may fit this description as well, although many bandits such as sociopaths, psychopaths, and non-pathological "jerks" and amoralists may act with full knowledge of the net negative consequences to a society that they neither identify with nor care about.}

Quite frankly, when you evaluate the use of "bandit" in this statement, referring to them as {sociopaths, psychopaths, and non-pathological "jerks" and amoralists} I'll argue is more correlated to our opposition.

{Helpless people contribute to society but are taken advantage of by it (and especially by the "bandit" sector of it); note, however, that extreme altruists and pacifists may willingly and consciously (rather than helplessly) accept a place in this category for moral or ethical reasons}

You're directing stupidity towards people while he's directing it towards the people's opposition. His explanation at the end correlates more with psychological manipulation.

{Stupid people whose efforts are counterproductive to both their and others' interests}

Who are the stupid people here. Who's putting forth efforts? What efforts? Is this again related to bandits? It's noncoherent as is and argumentative for each aspect he keeps referencing.

{Intelligent people contribute to society and who leverage their contributions into reciprocal benefits}

Again, incoherent and argumentative without substantial defining.

{Bandits pursue their own self-interest even when doing so poses a net detriment to societal welfare]

Again this is more correlated to our opposition.

Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity are basically useless rhetoric in regards to your use here. Incoherent and contradictory in regards to the people you attempted to direct it towards. Making you just as stupid as the rest of us. Congratulations. Welcome to the club.

When you dig up meme's from the 70's where the Internet wasn't even born yet, and attempt to make it seem like it has a beneficial purpose for today. Priceless.

@William_Mary A very interesting analysis. However I suggest that Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs significantly supports my contention that you will never have anyone able to create your socialist state or overcome Cippolla's defined stupidity.
And yes if you really knew me you would know that I am the most stupid of people. Lol, I can't get above Maslow's first two levels.

@FrayedBear I'll have to research Maslow I guess. It would be quite difficult for me to gain support for my type of socialist state however. My first reactions to gaining power would probably send the wrong message of a brutality like authoritarian power. Current heads of power and corporations would all become targets of indictments with a lot of accounts frozen up and wall street taken over. Socialist states are already out there and SEP, my current party to support, has international backing with parties worldwide. I just want to attempt to get people on track to exodus what they already know isn't working. Getting them to the right information is the first major agenda.

Eventually shit will hit the fan. If that's what it takes then they'll be given a chance to see enlightenment the hard way towards change. Sooner or later the truth comes out. It always does. I'm just telling it now rather than them getting it 10 to 20 years down the road.

We currently have 3 times the deaths in suicides within our veterans due to wars since 2001 than those killed in action in the same time frame. A large degree of those are because they came home and were basically never thought of again and they know they were lied to over what they went to the middle east to do. Many of them learned that while there. The same thing went on with Vietnam. How much fucking longer with people allow our government and ruling class to get away with this?

@William_Mary this should have been attached to my previous comment on Maslow.

@altschmerz thanks for the nod. Much appreciated.
