Love a good movie? Be ware of what you're watching. Be aware of the conditioning within. As you can learn from the Welcoming Page within the discussion with Abby Martin and Mark Crispin Miller, propaganda has been conditioning our society for at least a century. Just as with our main stream media, TV and movies are filled with false narratives and half truths to manage perceptions. The reality of it is that the world is nothing like it is portrayed in these avenues which are full of deceptions to produce fear and compliance to warring and solidify tribalism of various means. You may actually be so conditioned today you no longer recognize the fear as it has been engulfed on you for so long in compliance to the agenda. You don't realize the lies within from lack of knowledge. You can't recognize the fear you should have knowing the truth!
Every one of us should make it a point to be well informed of what our government and intelligence agencies are doing around the world. Quite frankly, most people are voting within a blissful ignorance. We are every bit as responsible for having someone like Trump as a president today because of that ignorance. It just has to be said. Trump is merely a symptom of decades of a perception management campaign agenda and a 2 party system working in collaboration to produce an oligarchy utopia.

Quite right. I quit television in 1979 and I recognise how it is used to perpetually pursue consumerism. Movies are not much of my life and before ''99 I had a period of about 20 years when I saw maybe 4 or 5 movies altogether. Any movie will be a form of propaganda if only pushing ideas of the director.

Which is why NOW is so great. I can pay for what i want to watch WITHOUT advertisements.
@Jacar Yes and no! Everything that you watch has elements of advertising; the most usual being lifestyle. So much shows wealthy lives.
Which makes me all the more glad my parents limited our TV time and my mom's miserly means meant we rarely went to the movies - she was raised during the Depression but there was some other underlying reason to her extreme penny pinching. Not that I have not been sucked into a good noir classic.
Human nature, studied with a view to con by narcissistic greedy control freaks.
I rather like to read the book than see the movie. 1984 the book is more scary than the movie.
The real villians are the admen who figured out how easy it is to lead the sheeple over the cliff.
The question is why is it more difficult to rally with love and inclusiveness?

It was Sigmund Freud's brother who came to the States and taught corporations how to advertise and persuade people to buy things that they did not need. In the '50's onwards armies of psychologists were employed to improve of this theory.
