I made carrot hot dogs for the first time today. They were delicious. Does anyone have some tried and true carrot hot dog marinade recipes?

Those hummus dips are awesome.

For the carrot dogs? Do you have a recipe?

@graceylou You can buy different flavors. My favorite at the moment is a brand that has a red pepper taste, but not hot plus a garlic roast. It has a bit of a taco type taste. Hummus is very good for you. It looks like other dip containers. I just love the flat gluten free bread. I cut small pieces of the bread in little triangles and take them as a complimentary plate with the dip to a party or a picnic. I like the flat bread better than crackers. It a walmart, they are usually along a wall right before you get to deli. Sorry I can't be more help. You could cook the little baby carrots which are my fav and add them with the flat bread and hummus.

@BettyColeman Yes, I’m familiar with hummus. I often make my own. I do have to be a bit restrained with chickpeas/garbanzo beans because technically I’m allergic to them. I still like my hummus though. As dips but also as a spread instead of vegan margarine or mayo. I just thought you meant a marinade for carrot dogs that incorporates hummus somehow.

@graceylou you could do a balsamic vinegar, olive oil and that special mustard or a honey mustard. work to season how you like.

@graceylou you can make the mustard 3 days or so ahead and keep in the fridge the honey mustard sounds good and easy on the libguid for a more sticky spread.

@BettyColeman I used yellow mustard in my marinade. I can’t do honey mustard obviously because I’m vegan.

@graceylou It is that special English mustard.Get brown mustard and add Stevia. Well rated heath wise and used in orient about 3 centuries. Ie from plant and has great taste. I don;t like honey.

@BettyColeman I don't like the taste of Stevia. I prefer to use maple syrup. Personally I don't worry about using reasonable amounts of sugars (I usually use coconut sugar or maple syrup). I will have to look into the English mustard. I'm not a fan of mustard in general so I only have the basic yellow mustard at home.

@graceylou Well Gracey , get on the internet and look for a vegan recipe. The internet is an invaluable place to find what you want. I don't like the big carrots. I like the new carrots.I don't like big pieces of bread like hot dog buns, or submarine buns. I like the soft gluten free tacos and I like gluten free flat bread. I love maple syrup. Coconut sugar, no. Perhaps some low salt free soy sauce, or teriyaki sauce. I've come to the conclusion you must check recipes yourself. I do not know what you like. This is really not helping you or I, so my best advice is to check for recipes on labels of tastes you like or the internet. Good Luck. Smiles, Betty.

@BettyColeman Oh I know. I spend way too much time ogling recipes online. Thanks for trying to help. Have a lovely day.

I watched a video… And now with your endorsement I’m going to have to try it 🙂

Haha. I was a bit sceptical at first but went for it. You can always modify the marinade ingredients to make it healthier. Or not. According to Google 1 carrot hot dog has 5 thing of protein. It’s the exact same as one regular hot dog.
