Is why I'm still single not everyone has my same values. I'm not compromising them. I gladly rather stay single.

Not only that but one that's also an atheist or agonostic.

My second partner and I became vegetarian together. My next, short term partner was also a strong vegetarian and my late partner was also vegetarian. It is not impossible if one is a bit lucky. Also, if not, I think that if another truly cares they will at least try to make an effort.

I was once told no because I was vegetarian, a bullet dodged. I don’t require a partner to be vegan, but if they require me not be.... so be it.

Hang in there, it will be worth it.

Is that a 'deal breaker' for you then? I haven't thought about it too much. Dating at all would be a start. Insisting she had hair and teeth a bonus. That she would follow a particular dietary regime seems pie in the sky -if you'll excuse the pun 🙂

Could I kiss someone that might have had burnt animal flesh in her mouth moments before? Hmmmm. What if I never get to find out?

Dating is hard and being vegan is hard. 😟

Being vegan in this day and age is easy. You should have tried it 2 decades ago when the only vegan "product" was tofu. Today, there are, literally, thousands of vegan products and options and hundreds of new products being introduced every year. I'm still in awe at how much has changed in the past 2 decades. 🙂 Now, dating....THAT is still hard....

@SkotlandSkye

But if you're avoiding gluten and wheat like I am, it suddenly becomes very difficult. I have to put many vegan products back on the shelf. But you are correct.

I make a lot of things from scratch, which takes work and time.

@Shapoklyak

That's an ignorant and offensive comment.

There is 'Non Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity' or 'Non Coeliac Wheat Sensitivity' and for some people symptoms can be just as debilitating. Sufferers often have to deal with a public who ridicule their "fad".

I presume you didn't read my previous link.

I can't afford a nutritionist and wheat makes me feel ill. In fact oats make me feel ill too. I suspect I have coeliac disease, although a blood test years ago proved negative.

I realise how people roll their eyes at people like me and label me difficult. But this life is a pain in the ass because it's impossible to eat out or have a normal social life. I do not enjoy this 'fad'.

I still remember the last time I had a piece of cake in a cafe. I threw caution to the wind, because like you, somewhere in the back of my mind I wondered if it was all in my mind. So I enjoyed a big piece of cake (made with wheat) with my friend and laughed about it.

For the following 3 days afterwards I felt like I had gotten the flu and had constant diarrhoea, and I knew in my heart of hearts it was the wheat. And I regretted it.

So it really annoys me to be told I'm indulging in a fad.

I do not care if the research doesn't support me.
