I don't know about his study. Correlation does not equal causation. A more likely possibility would be that people with a lot of books in the home are genetically more prone to the factors considered. That's why they would have the books to begin with.

I think it's just a matter of perception. We can only perceive our little piece of the universe and only experience our own bodies directly, and this makes us feel like self-motivated individual units. It takes a different kind of perception to realize oneness, and it is not tied to religion.

@Kattywampus69 It was a joke name I gave to some material that me and my songwriting partner wrote and recorded back in the early 80s. He died in a car wreck in '84, and I wrote and recorded a couple of songs for him.
