Thank you. My meaning (I think) was different than the way you interpreted it, but sometimes things sneak into my poems that make me see it a different way later on. Also, as Sylvia Plath said, once the poem is out there, the meaning is left to the reader. (Or something like that. I can't remember the exact quote.)

@Jolanta Well, I lost my job and my family broke up, all within a year or so. I had had an underlying depression (why, I don't know) before that, and those events kicked it into high gear. It's taken quite a while to get over it. I saw a therapist for a while.
