Take the emotion out and think through what KJU wants, and Trump's goals vis a vis China. KJU wants peace, trade and to be taken seriously. He needs a buffer to lessen China's leverage. And American foreign policy that long pre-dates Trump is to unify Korea and have American troops on China's border.
